Further predictions: Ruby is Lilith, and Lucifer is another one out there like Sam that is basically good-natured and has no fucking clue who he is and what he is doing.
Corollary for Hostile Takeovers and possibly Roggenhund:
Um, who is it that shines when he prays hard enough and can walk through your dreams again? Who is it that's always using the Luciferian Gnostic logic? Who is the light-bringer and why is he always walking along out of Hell next to Sam in our shit?
Re: the brother's keeper thing. It definitely worried me too. I was like "Please to not be bringing up the brothers who invented murder in reference to my boys, kthnx!" But I thought about it a little bit, and then I felt okay. I had this religion class that spent quite a lot of time dwelling on Genesis in general and Cain and Abel in particular. Cain asks God if he is his brother's keeper. As in "How am I supposed to know where he went. Not my job, man!" So Cain was denying his responsiblity to take care of his brother. Sam and Dean, on the other hand, are most DEFINITELY each other's keepers. They take care of each other no matter what. So! Even though the priest was a demon, I feel like he was holding up Sam as a model of what a brother ought to be, not likening him to a murderer.
