Reading everyone's LJs are making me so hungry.. I'm sad I missed all the candy!
Well I had my biopsy today. To say the least it was a very unusual experience. I'll try to type everything that I recall.
I woke up this morning at 6:45, so I decided not to go to school because I couldn't get ready in 15 minutes. I wasn't allowed to eat anything before the biopsy so I was really hungry. Mom and Amelia left for school and I immediately collapsed on the couch and had the weirdest dream about Taking Back Sunday and a cereal box. The next thing I knew it was 9:30 Mom was yelling at me to get up because we were going to be late for the biopsy. Luckily we showed up at St. Joseph's in the nick of time.
This is where it got fun. I got my own little room and they put a hospital gown on me and everything. And the little TV had cable so I watched some weird movie with Whoopi Goldberg. Then a nice nurse came in and asked me a few questions. Then she asked, "William March? Is that the reporter?" referring to my dad. I said yes and she said, "I love to watch him on TV every Friday night!" Haha. Dad has a fan!
After about 45 minutes an assistant came in and put an IV on me. He told me not to move at all but he was shaking more than I was. Then the anesthesiologist came in and explained what the whole process would be. They would wheel me into another room and knock me unconcious, then they would stick a needle in my face. Of course his description was not as crude but you get the idea.
Then the doctor wheeled me out of my room. This was my favorite part. I felt like I was on ER or something. They put me in a small dark room with lots of monitors. They gave me the anesthesia and the last thing I remember was looking at the ceiling because it looked like it was moving and giggling like a maniac. Zzz.
Apparently while I was unconcious, they tried to stick some sort of oxygen tube in my nose but I didn't like it so I kept trying to pull it out. So they had to restrain me and I was so strong that they had to give me more anesthesia. Haha. I don't remember anything like that at all. But when I woke up I felt so drowsy and drugged up. I kept laughing and crying and laughing some more. They wheeled me back into my room and a nice lady brought me something to eat. I really didn't feel like myself. I felt so happy and loose. But I also felt like taking a really long nap. When it was time to go I stood up and almost fell on my face. Luckily my mom was there to help me change back into my clothes but I still couldn't walk. Another nice lady came to the rescue and got me a wheelchair and wheeled me out of the hospital. Apparently her daughter was from Greensboro so we had a nice chat about North Carolina because I was feeling really nice and talkative.
After we left the hospital we got lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen.
Hopefully when they take that sucker out this whole ordeal will be over with. Needless to say I didn't find love, but it was quite an experience anyway.
