1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Travel alone, get a job (albeit a crap one), have affectionate feelings towards school (short-lived), be interviewed, GET A LIVEJOURNAL.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I can't remember what they were, but I'm quite certain they weren't kept.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Uncle Robert, although we weren't that close.

5. What countries did you visit?
England :D

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
More bravery, optimism and initiative.

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
November 25th.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
The HSC, I suppose. Doesn't feel like it, though.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Failing to let go of the past.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
At times. Nothing to fret about.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My formal dress! I love it so much!

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Many people's, at certain times. But mostly, Seemy's.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
My Dad's.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Savings :D - unlike you Humyara!

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Cambridge. But I'm really not so disappointed (in some ways, this is a lie).

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
Libertines - Don't Look Back Into The Sun

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? sadder, unfortunately
ii. richer or poorer? richer, but I'm restricting myself from spending it too much. Mustn't accumulate untransportable material possessions / waste money meant for uni.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Receiving real hugs.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Thinking, in both the academic and self-exploratory senses.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
In a low-key manner. Overate.

Hmm .. no #21.

22. Did you fall in love in 2006?
Nope.

23. How many one-night stands?
Zero.

24. What was your favourite TV program?
Just one??! It's a tie between Gilmore Girls and VMars, closely followed by Supernatural, and One Tree Hill is moping in the corner because nobody wants to actually acknowledge it.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Yeaaap.

26. What was the best book you read?
I read not these books of yours. Fight Club was interesting, but possibly only in conjunction with the movie?

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Libs and Aqualung. Today I found a new appreciation of heavy metal?

28. What did you want and get?
One particular friendship; a happy body shape and size

29. What did you want and not get?
An improvement in life in general.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
In the cinema, Dead Man's Chest. Outside, many many many. But the only one I can think of now is One True Thing. Ooh, and Somersault.

30. What was your favourite theatrical production of this year?
Seeing The Phantom of the Opera at the West End! OMG. Also, the Mosman High production of Romeo and Juliet, which was better than the Bell Shakespeare one. Here is probably also a good time to mention that I realised a couple of weeks ago that the one line in Shakespeare that resonates the most with me in relation to humanity is: 'Is this the promised end?' (this is not merely because Hum repeated it so many times everywhere)

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Seventeen & fairy party & cosying up with the wrong boy.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Honesty.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Getting clearer.

34. What kept you sane?
Boredom.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Oh, Johhny! *swoon*

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I hate politics.

37. Who did you miss?
Not telling.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Erika, who has and is many things I aspire to and illustrated how simple they can be to obtain.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006:
Reality is flawed beyond repair, not just the environments we've created, but the relationships too. There are no guarantees and nothing is perfect, so the task at hand is to try and enjoy it as much as possible, in whichever way works best for you.

And just as an extra note, I just remembered that the first thing I did this year (literally) was fall down the stairs, which happened at my aunt's house in Kent. Now, a warning to you all: DON'T IGNORE WHAT FATE IS TRYING TO TELL YOU, which was, in my case, to not bother getting out of bed.
