lost_land - Challenge #4 - Big Bang - Juliet Fanmix - "Fighter"
So this is an entry for challenge #4 over at lost_land , the challenge being to get to 100 points by making art, writing fics, fanmixes, videos, etc, until we reach the 100. So there'll be more than one post :) But this is my first fanmix; which gives me 15 points to start with :) This fanmix is for pre-crash Juliet, living on the island, thinking about Rachel, her patients, her issues with Ben, etc.

1: Beautiful Disaster by John McLaughlin.

Set after Juliet realizes Ben won't let her go home, and her original ideas of coming to the island and saving lives is shot; she's just made a big mistake.
2: Anything But Ordinary by Avril Lavigne.
"Sometimes I get so weird,
I even freak myself out.
I laugh myself to sleep,
It's my lullaby.
Sometimes I drive so fast,
Just to feel the danger.
I wanna scream,
It makes me feel alive."
An inner anthem for Juliet, having to live on the island, smiling her way through every day even though she hates it.
3: Lifeline by Brooke Fraser.
"I have this sinking feeling,
Something's weighing me down.
I am completely saturated,
The waves are crashing closer,
My feet already drowned,
Doing the thing I said I hated."
A realization song for Juliet; just after she tells Ben that it is time for her to go home and he reveals that Rachel's cancer is back; she realizes that he may never let her leave.
4: Rolling In The Deep by Adele.
"See how I leave with every piece of you,
Don’t underestimate the things that I will do.
There’s a fire starting in my heart,
Reaching a fever pitch,
And its bring me out the dark."
Fed up; Juliet starts thinking of ways to get the hell of the island; no matter the cost.
5: Fighter by Christina Aguilera.
"Makes me that much stronger.
Makes me work a little bit harder.
It makes me that much wiser.
So thanks for making me a fighter.
Made me learn a little bit faster.
Made my skin a little bit thicker.
Makes me that much smarter.
So thanks for making me a fighter."
The way Ben treated Juliet has turned her into a warrior.
6: Stay by Karmina.
"Stay.
I never meant for it to end this way,
Despite what other people say,
I don’t wanna be apart,
Please don’t go.
See the problem is I’ll miss you so,
And I have nowhere else to go,
But the shelter of your heart."
At Goodwin's funeral, Juliet wishes she had done more to save his life.

Let the light shine in from upon our souls.

As she drifts off to sleep of a night, Juliet thinks of her sister and nephew, dreaming of the day that they will finally meet up again.

"But my dreams, they aren't as empty,
As my conscience seems to be.
I have hours, only lonely,
My love is vengeance,
That’s never free."
Juliet has to lie; it's the way she's been conditioned. And she hates it; wishing she could just be herself, but unsure of who that self is anymore.
