Monday marks the last week of my summer off after my first year of teaching. I will miss my summer :( I feel like I did about 20% of what I wanted to this summer. But at least I will start the year with more energy than I started last year. I'm pretty excited to be back though, I miss my classroom and I am really excited to rewrite my early lesson plans. I got so much better at it as the year went on but my standards also go much higher so now I think everything I did at the begining sucked and by the time I get to the end of the year again my standerds will be higher again and I will think all of those suck. My hope is that somehow I will have more energy. I was very intergetic until about Febuary. By then I was sick, sick of it, and I really needed a nap. My goal this year is not to run out of steam until March. We'll see how that works with wedding planning in the mix. I also want to see friends more, I felt so isolated and too sufficated by work to really hang out with anyone, now that I may have more time again everyone has graduated and left :(
Mike is going ring shopping again today. He is being much more picky than I would. I am afraid that the ring will cost more or at least have more value than the entire wedding. He was less than canded yesterday on the phone with the jewlers about what he wants, so I have some idea of what it will be (and Mike can't keep a secret to save his life either). I want to be engaged now so that we can start planning and setting the date. I want the ceremony to be at big baker, I really don't care where the reception is as long as it's close by and we can decorate it however we want.
We are working on the apartment in the basement, we are about 50% done with the cabnets and dad got the wiring done yesterday so he just has to finish up the plumbing.
Going shopping for school supplies (even teacher's do it). I'm thinking of buying the updated word (I've been using a pretty old copy). Hopefully it will have the features I got use to using at McDaniel.
Anyway that was pretty rambley. At least I posted ;)
