Yay, we're back on track!
There are nearly 30 RAs who formed a bunch of small groups to train together to run the Madison Marathon on Memorial Day. We all started our training this week - and so far, it's off to a great start!
On Tuesday, I joined up with Collin, Jeremy, Bobby and Simon to run our first mile together. We started at the "No Parking" sign by the Clem tennis courts. Our route was to run north to the back road, all the way to Prairie - up to the stop sign, then back. I measured it in my car, and that totalled one complete mile.
It was a really hard first mile - and I wanted to stop to walk several times. Collin and Jeremy went far ahead of us quickly...but Bobby and Simon kept pace with me, and we all refused to stop to walk.
Today, I had to go out on my own - and I did the same track in reverse. Perhaps because it was reversed (the huge hill comes early this way) - I didn't feel the need to walk. Also, I had my mp3 player, and tuned up "Proud" to be the song I finished with.
So, I'm on my way - for the fourth time! Hopefully this will be the time I actually get to the finish line! :)
