A short distance away from sucking

Not far away from it yet, but working on it. These are my first attempts at whitework... you can see the progression down the page as I adjusted the paint and found styles that would not accentuate my ineptitude.

I spent today getting cultured instead of trying to work. The morning was in the Fine Arts section of the Boston Public Library, taking notes on 10th-14th c Greek illuminated manuscripts. Why did I only discover this resource a few short months before I will be switching my commute off the T? Sigh. The afternoon was at the DeCordova museum, where Sean & I can get in free because our companies pay to borrow art from them. Modern art is definitely not my favorite genre, but some of the stuff was very pretty (like the set of bronze tigers) and some is at least amusing (like the feral duck holding a golf ball and looking very pissed off). Overall, no complaints.

Also, I did not completely suck at archery at 100Mins war last weekend, despite the cold. And any weekend with a party in it is a good weekend.

Life does not suck.
