Renaissance Festival

So today I went to the Renaissance Festival with Kemuri-Sensei and Yumeji. It was a lot of fun! I sort of dressed up, which I like because it allows you to be comfortable while still blending in. I was a little late getting to the dojo (oops), but thankfully the guys were forgiving and we were off on our merry way.

I had a really great time, we did a lot of shopping, watched the hypnotist, shot arrows (which I have improved at, yay), threw knives, and hit things with hammers (I made it halfway to the bell and the lady said it was pretty good for a girl, to which Kemuri-Sensei said she was humoring me. But I was pretty proud anyway so there). I ate a lot of good food, a chocolate covered banana (YUM), a turkey leg, and some Italian ice in an orange. I actually didn't really buy anything, which is good, but if I go again with Channing I will probably buy some stuff. All the things I liked were bigger purchases.

Hanging out with Kemuri-Sensei and Yumeji was nice because they are both really laid back guys. We weren't the most decisive party in the world (It was a bit like the Jungle Book- "I dunno, what do you want to do?" "I don't know, what do you want to do?" etc.), but that was ok with me. We moved slow, took our time, stopped to sit and chat, and they indulged my random desires to hang out by the fuzzy animals (elephants and camels make me happy), so the overall effect was that at the end of the day, I was not exhausted at all but rather quite relaxed. I never thought I would be able to say I had a "relaxing day at the Renaissance Festival," but now I can. We were blessed with weather that was not too hot. It started pouring rain and throwing down lightning pretty close to the festival about the time we were planning on leaving anyway, so that worked out fine. We have not had a great day of rain here in Colorado for a long time, so it was nice to be outside for it.

Now I am home, and still relaxing, gearing up for a busy week. Trying to come up with the cash to do High Falls at the end of the week. I think we could afford it, but Channing is really worried that I will get hurt, since I don't have medical insurance the last thing I need to do is get hurt falling 35 feet. Still, I am a stunt woman, it's what I do, and I need the practice.

I got a dayplanner, but I don't know that it is really making me feel that at-ease about my schedule. I keep worrying that I will forget to put something in it and forget it. Maybe as I keep using it religiously that stress will go away. I don't know why I should trust a dayplanner less than my memory- atleast the dayplanner doesn't forget things as long as I remember to write them down. Anyone else have creative organizational methods that keep them from getting stressed out about their schedule? If so, please share.

Let's see... what else is new... you know, I am just feeling the calm before the storm. WE move into the new dojo in August and all of the films start, so life will get pretty hectic for awhile. Jeff and John are also discussing getting me some more classes in the fall. I am even going to some classes required so I can teach at Catholic schools, which apparently will bring in some good business. I am shooting for 20 classes total, which is only 6 more than I have now. Still, I wonder how adding classes will change my ability to work on film stuff if the opportunities arise. I will eventually have some decisions to make, but for now I'm not going to worry over it.

It already feels like life is busy, but I know it will only get more so.

I don't think I did very good on my diet this week. Seems like I have gone out a lot and that makes points difficult to gage. We'll see what the scale says come tomorrow. I suppose the only thing I can do is try better next week. No sense beating myself up over it. Especially before I see how I did. :)

Anyway, I am done babbling for the moment. Hope everyone else is doing well!
