A very merry Thanksgiving
We (when I say we, I really mean I) decided to do Thanksgiving with my parents at our house this year, mostly so my kids would be able to nap while we were making food. It worked out pretty well, James was gone until about 2 (skeet shooting, bleh) and dad was too busy enjoying my cable tv, so mom and I (and Leslie, kind of) made 2 pumpkin pies (yuck), an apple pie (the best pie ever), stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and roasted a turkey. (I was also reminded why I've never made a turkey.. have you seen the kind of stuff you have to take OUT of it? GROSS!!!!!) We started a little after 10, sat down to eat at 3 and were all done by 3:30. It almost wasn't worth it, except that everything was way yummy. And apparently my dad is now going to go tell some guy at work that I really CAN cook. (I hope he doesn't tell anyone else.)
