The month of July

Jul 31, 2007 19:22

July was alright. The fourth was spent in Kentucky/Ohio. Tried to catch catfish, but only caught bait. While trying to get bait though a hell of a storm came up and we were standing in this drain pipe in a creek and had to make a break for it back over a barb wire fence and through mud in the pouring rain to get into a jeep with no roof or doors...good times. Then I got to shoot Nathan's new 50 cal. Thompson muzzle loader...it kicked like a mule but was fun. My birthday was good too. Elyse and Nathan took me out to Olive Garden and then we had Dairy Queen ice cream cake which was most tasty. I went back up to Chesterton for a little bit to attend Stephanie's birthday party and then Cody's birthday party and to visit the woman. Then I went back to work at IMS for the Brickyard 400. Worked 3 12 hour days, 16 hours on race day and 9 hours on Monday. I went up to the start finish line to watch the start of the race and then decided it was too hot and went back to my gate to work and watch the crowd leave. They estimated about 350,000 people showed up to watch the race, not including employees. It was fun watching them all leave. I tried to buy a Dale Jr. t-shirt but I wasn't 21 so I couldn't get one because it has "budwiser" on it. What a load of shit, like Rick said, what am I gonna do melt the shirt and drink it? Well anyways, Rick went and bought me a shirt anyways and then took me to go watch the transporters leave. Generally after a race the drivers have 2 hours to get their transporters out of the track or they get fined but in Indy they don't have that rule because it's in a city but it's still fun to watch them get a police escort to the interstate. By the time we got up there though most of them had already left so it was kind of sad but I saw some leave and got pictures. So now I'm packing up my things and preparing to move into my townhouse this weekend. I'm excited and a little sad that I'm moving out :( but it'll be good. I hate packing though but the good thing is I didn't unpack everything when we moved into this place or when I moved back from school so I don't have much left to pack. So that was the month of July in a nutshell. I'll update again soon I'm sure!
