I know they are huge. My Grandpa is retired Navy, and I've spent quite a bit of my life touring them when I could and looking at scale models of them, especially aircraft carriers like he was on. He even said they can be a bit confusing. I don't know...It just felt like Ziva wouldn't have seemed as lost as they made her out to be. A little bit, sure, but not tons. Plus, and this could just be me, I'd think a Navy officer would probably be at least slightly familiar with a Navy vessel, so I'd think they would have had Ziva's character be a bit better at navigating them (they could always say she'd been on them a time or two in other cases, even if they were cases we weren't shown) so as to not arouse suspicion, since Stan went and made her an officer. I'm not in the Navy, so I don't really know, but I'd think it would look suspicious to have a Navy officer on board who seems as lost as a gal just out of the Academy. Especially since, for her to be newly joining them in Naples, she'd have had to fly or be on a different ship from the US to get to Naples.

I don't know, it just struck a false note with me. It's just one of those things that sticks with you after an episode, and I just haven't been able to get it out of my head. It just seemed like the equivelent of taking someone who is relatively good at navigating and who has grown up driving in big cities, sticking that person in a new big city with a car and GPS unit, and still that person getting completely lost. And as someone who did grow up in big cities, has GPS in her car, and is fairly good at finding their way in new places, I don't get completly lost in new cities. I get a bit lost, but then I think about how I got where I am and where I think the main highway is, head that way, and I generally find my way out fine. I just think Ziva shouldn't have seemed as lost as she did, and it bugs me lol!!
