Movie Night: Fight Club, NCIS style
This alternate version of a classic was actually one of my very first ideas, back when I first came up with my "movie night" project, and I've always loved it and intended to go back to it. Buuuut as you know, time constraints and RL and other projects always took the time away from me.
Today, though, is Steve's birthday, and he is decidedly one of the nicer people I've met over on Tumblr, so I wanted to do a little something to surprise him. And since he really likes the DiNozzo/McGee dynamic on our show, I figured what better way to finally get going with my little project and finish this? ;)
I'm insanely proud how this one turned out. :) You don't want to know how many layers and adjustments and fiddling went into this, but it was definitely worth it.
I haven't decided yet what the most bizarre part of this project was, though - stumbling over a promo shoot in which MW sports the exact same grin as Brad Pitt had on the original poster... or only later realizing that you've wasted away almost a day working on a "Fight Club" poster while there's Bob Ross running in the background, mumbling continuously about "happy little trees". (There's a certain irony in that.)
