In The Last Decade...

Jul 07, 2020 08:03

Well hello, there, LiveJournal! I have to say, regardless of how much time passes, you are always there. You never change and you provide me flash backs that I have forgotten. It has been, literally, a solid decade since I last updated. My last entry was just before graduating college--that seems like a whole other lifetime now.
Let's see, in the last ten years...
1.) Went on a few dates. Tried to go on more but a lot of the guys didnt want to actually take me to dinner to get to know me,just home to bed--which was discouraging. I said no to all of them...I definitely do not regret doing that in the end. I've seen where they all are today. It's okay, Im definitely good. LoL.
2.) College graduation was literally in the middle of the recession. Work was hard to come by. Thankfully, having bar friends paid off and I got a job at Mobil. The last decade has been a whirlwind of experiences working there. I know I shouldn't had stayed for as long as I have, but turns out,I'm essential in 2020. Who knew?! *shrugs*
3.)I crashed a house party in Feb. 2011 and met boy. He's cute.and adorable and I decided to keep him when he asked me to marry him in April of 2015. We've been married since September 16th, 2016
4.) Lost a best friend in a freak wave runner accident. It happened three month before my wedding. She was going to be one of my maid of honors. It's been four years and i still expect her to text me a novel about her day or some 90's song lyrics. I really do miss her
5.) In 2018, I went to FIVE weddings and FOUR funerals.
6.) 2019, we went on some.fun vacations. My favorite being New Orleans. I miss the food every single day of my life. LoL.
7.) Bought my first brand new car in 2019. Although, I still my Gretta thr Jetta. It has been awesome to not have electrical problems every time I start my car. I call my new Mazda: Just Bernadette Peters. A play on with using the letters in yhe license plate.
8.) Hubby and I mived back into my childhood home. He fell in love with my ghetto neighborhood and have decided to be lifers here. We've slowly been doing home improvements. Next up is tenting for termites.
9.) Mom passed away a week before San Diego shutdown in a "shelter in place" from Covid 19 aka coronavirus. It was unexpected, and Im glad I was still able to be in the room with her when she passed. I miss her a lot. My phone has never been this quiet. Watching someone take their last breath is rough. I dont recommend it.
10.) While in quarantine, lots of black lives matter movements have been going on for the month of June. Im proud of my friends and family for banding together to end racism and fight for a better future.
I simplified the decade, but in a really small nutshell, here it is. Maybe I'll start posting more here. Seems nice and quiet and simple.
P.s.--memes have been EVERYTHING during quarantine 😂
