After a round of EXTREME hokey pokey with Elmo... we took a (surprisingly) quick (2hr) trip to the ER. Adrian has inherited my coordination (or lack therof) and tripped while running around with Elmo. He happened to land head first on our hardwood floor. One busted eyebrow and a bunch (I mean...horror movie amounts) of blood later and Gabriel was left with Grandma while PaPa accompanied me and Adrian to the hospital. ::sigh:: He tripped in the hospital too while we were waiting for the doctor and hit the same place...so more blood and crying. We cleaned him up again though. (We being me and Pablo, who arrived about the time we were checking in.) Thanks to the pediatrician's advice we managed to avoid a few stitches and Adrian's eyebrow gash was glued closed. The ER doctor was going to do stitches but I asked if it was possible to glue it because the gash wasn't so big. He got another doctor's opinion and agreed to go the glue route. (I'm not sure I could have watched them stitch Adrian without tearing up myself.) Pblo says I better get used to ER visits because we have two boys but I don't know. How does one prepare? I'm just glad he's okay even if he does have a black eye.
Also: Gabriel wet the bed for the first time last night and we discovered that our waterproof mattress covers are not in fact waterproof. Any cleaning/sanitizing tips?
More later. I hope everyone is doing well.
