Present highlights thus far (for round 1 of christmas): a nice, white quilted vest I picked out.
Round 2 happens when my dad gets in from Memphis, and Round 3 will be with my mom in Birmingham. Here it is me, my grandmother, grandfather, my uncle and my cousin, Cassidy. Christmas here doesn't have the same energy any more. It's a rote exercise of obligation, which seems better than anyone feigning false excitement. Not that it is that depressing, just routine. Since my cousin died, they don't know really how to get that extra thing back. The thing that made it more.
