My Uncle has just passed away:(
Mum is in bits, she has had a terrible day, first told she needed to get there as soon as possible (it would be a 4 hour drive) then told there was no point as he would die any moment soon, then he didn't so she felt terrible as she could have got there to say goodbye.
She has been in tears all day, feeling helpless at being so far away. He has been in a hospice for a week and mum was going to visit him next weekend.
I feel numb. I haven't seen him for about a year, though I wrote to him a while back. He was the only one in my family who could be bothered to come to my wedding and my Mum's last surviving relative (apart from me).
I want to be with her tomorrow so she isn't on her own, but I can't as I have to go to work.
