I Have a Feeling

That in the not too distant future (although centuries in political years) There will be a lot of penitent MP's with bloody knees due to crawling over a deep carpet of broken promises.

Edit: Yes I have just listened to PMQ's.

I agree, however; given that it was fairly common knowledge that the coffers were empty, and working on the principle that the potential new government probably didn't know the whole of the truth with regards to how much dosh we didn't have. YOu would think they would have been a little more cautious in manifesto pledges. That they have reneged/backtracked etc on quite a few indicates they were either; disingenuous or stupid. I'm not totally bovine when it comes to chowing down on the fodder being fed to us by the media, but it is really quite worrying seeing how sincerely promises (back to the lack of thinking) how sincerely promises were made that are now being broken ( ... )

What I think is an especial lark is that many of the current and previous generation of politicans are just old enough to have benefited from a free grammar school education and a free university education with a grant that genuinely reflected the cost of living...

Those of them who aren't from an upper middle class background, that is, which seems to be a dwindling number.

People wonder why social mobility is going down the poop-shoot. Could it be that the means by which people were able to achieve social mobility are being removed?

I've got to say I blame Labour for this more than the current government, though some of it goes back to the Conservative's previous term. I blame them especially for doing it all in the name of some mindless version of equality.
