I found a farm where I can pick my own strawberries!!!! And the first harvest is Sunday :D
Last year, when I decided to start making jam I ended up spending $20.00 for four quarts of strawberries at the farmers market. Although I did manage to make eight jars of jam and a pint of ice cream, I think by picking my own I can be more economical about it, especially since this year I'd like to make 10-12 jars of jams since we ran out last year. I should also check my book on canning and preserving and pick out recipes for other types of jam. I'm hoping to get some grapes from my mom's grape vine, and try making some grape jelly as well this year.
Hoping to go to the Wex tonight to see Objectified, it's supposed to be date night for J and I, though I hear he's not feeling well. Tomorrow will be my first trip to the farmer's market, and later on the "Dead Diva's" burlesque show. As usual, what I thought might be a fairly quiet weekend has ballooned, but should be pretty fun overall.
