Opening her eyes slowly, Abby saw a gray ceiling above her. Blinking slowly, she went to sit up but couldn’t. She tried to move again but her body would not respond.
“Abby?” Connor’s face appeared above her looking panicked. “Abby? Abby, say something.”
She tried to open her mouth and tell him she couldn’t move but her lips wouldn’t respond. She felt a sweat break out on her forehead. Somehow she managed to blink to show she was alive.
“Oh my god… that stuff the creature sprayed on you…” Connor trailed off and Abby felt her pulse begin to race.
