highlights of this wonderful weekend
1. friday= MY EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY!!!! i'm now in my 19th year, kids. it's awesome. best birthday i could've asked for. FOUR cakes, from shannon, leslie and christina, doug and marina, and adorable heather. ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW - very sexy. flowers from a 'secret admirerer'. 2nd night of OUR TOWN.
2. cried every fucking night for 4 days because of our wonderful, beautiful production of OUR TOWN. cast is amazing, i love everyone. nothing like the feeling of a standing ovation. i felt it. god, what a high.
3. 'strike party' yesterday, which means we spent a little over 2 hours dismantling the scene. wasn't as bad as expected. actually made me feel pretty badass, wielding drill gun and pliers, hauling GINORMOUS wood platforms back into the scene shop. briefly considered interviewing for West Side Story build crew, then remembered i need my life back (no way i'm committing to another 4 months of rehearsal).
4.listening to paul baribeau seems to fit pretty well with the Our Town theme, so there was more crying there.
since becoming an 'honorary theatre major', i've done more good crying than ever before. i think it's a good sign; i think that means that i should be doing this with my life.
5. my mom made me birthday cake yesterday!! though i think i was still stuffed from friday. nothing like my mom's chocolate cake from scratch.
one blot on the whole happy radar: fell into bed last night only to be overwhelmed by the enormous weight on my chest that is COLLEGE. i literally found it hard to breathe.
at least it'll be over in a few weeks (nov. 15th is my personal deadline for complete completion. don't ask.)
