I called 2 & a half months ago to let morons they use for billing purposes know that my home in the New Orleans area was destroyed and I wanted to cancel my account. They told me they were not doing that at the time and so I told them to call me back when they were ready to. I had to cancel the credit card I was billed on because one of them was still in my house.
so I hear from them today bitching and moaning that I owe them $67 and I need to pay them because they're going to report me. ***NEWSFLASH: PEOPLE IN THE DEVASTED AREAS CANNOT BE REPORTED FOR THE TIMEBEING*** needless to say I was not amused by this threat and lack of understanding for those of us that live down here. I told him fine, I'd pay it, but I think they cancellation fee should be waived under the circumstances to which he suggested my reason for moving from the New Orleans area did not matter...moron.
it just astounds me that my mortgage company, my car loan, my credit cards, and every other place that would usually bill me for things have NO problem with what's going on and don't want me to pay anything until further notice but I'm being harrassed and threatened for $67.
