Hee! I used to know a guy who was double jointed - he could pull both his arms right back flat, and pull his thumbs flat against his wrists...
Uh... The Hobbit - I know it's practically sacriligious to some people to say it, but I just could not get past chapter four, it's one of the few books I could never finish.
I've done this so many times now that I'm running out of factoids, but: I have a passion for Victorian history, in particular, the history of Victorian London.
Who would you say is the biggest influence on your writing style?
Oh, that is interesting - it's not something I know a lot about.
Hmm... outside of fandom, my main thing is poetry, that's where my major interests lie as a writer, so most of my biggest influences have always been poets; Auden, T.S. Eliot, Roger McGough, John Agard and more recently, Sophie Hannah and Wendy Cope - I know that's a lot, but they all influenced me in different ways - rhythm, emotion, use of language... I love them all for different reasons!
Oooh... interesting one... um... hmm. One of my very favourite films is Labyrinth, and I think it really didn't get the attention it deserved at the time... I dunno if I'd remake it as such, but spruce it up, maybe - new effects and so forth... although, that said, I'd love to see someone else play Jareth - much as I love Bowie, he didn't half chew the scenery! I don't know who though... they'd have to have a lot of charisma... maybe Rhys Ifans - he has enough crazy!
Oh, I kinda know what you mean - certain frequency noises drive me insane - the microwave, yes, and the dishwasher, and air-conditioning systems in large buildings *shudders*
TV and Movies, no question. I could live without those, even though never seeing certain shows or films again would be a bit of a wrench, but I couldn't live without poetry, or without the tangible, solid, comfort of a favourite book. There's just something real and grounding about a real, paper, book - not even an ebook can capture it. That probably sounds a bit mental... :S
