So long
Today I handed in my notice at work. My last day at The Chelsea Standard is officially Jan. 14, 2005, a Friday. I will probably fly to Texas that weekend. This means I will be in town for a month longer than I originally thought, but it also means I will actually be leaving, as about 60 percent of myself never really believed I would ever actually quit my job.
Needless to say, 60 percent of myself is pretty shocked right now (much more shocked, I think, than any of my coworkers, who seemed to be expecting it). The other 40 percent of myself is probably going to be wiggin' out for a while, as well. But, you know, it's partially a good wig-out, right? Like... I'll finally get out of Michigan!! Oh.My.God.
This is either the first step to starting the rest of my independent, adult, life, or the first of a downward spiral of poor decisions that will lead to my eventual homelessness and long-term employment at H.E.B (<--- Texas Meijer). But, hey, at least this was entirely my decision to make. So I'm pretty proud about that.
At any rate... I still have work to do.
