.. because what the world needs is people who come alive.

Today I went to the Triad Leadership Academy and it was freaking phenomenal. I just love empowerment and I love big groups of people who have a genuine passion for making a difference. I went with Caitlin and Rebecca and we were there for Alpha Chi Omega reaffiliation purposes, yes, but I got so much out of it and it was SO GREAT.

It reminded me of when I was at Governor's School and the first thing we did was we all stood up and Brandon Tesh said, "Okay, now I want to guys to lift your hands up into the air and raise them as high as you possibly can", and after we were all doing that he said, "Okay, now raise them just a little bit higher". After that he looked around at us and asked who in the group had gotten their arms a little higher the second time around, and nearly every single one of us raised our hands. And then he said, "Why were you able to reach higher when I asked you the first time to raise your arms as high as they could possibly go?" And it was just such an INTERESTING idea that when we think we're reaching our fullest potential, we're really not. And we can always reach a little higher, run a little faster, yell a little louder.

There was a guy who had an outline of a world map on the bottom of both of his shoes.. like he was always walking on top of the world. I just thought that was so awesome and clever.

"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." - Howard Thurman

SO THIS IS MY LIFE, and I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to find out how that can be.

I had a 24 hour illness that really really sucked. Also, I think I am at the place where I am looking for love and comfort and companionship and you are not, so things might be over.
