Quest Seven: Well Three Dog isn't here

[After making a trip to the cemetery, Mae runs home and grabs the phone.]

Hey Mayfield? Consider this a PSA.

If anyone's going to go dig up those bodies, be careful. My Geiger counter went nuts near them. So either they're highly irradiated or they're doing something else to mess with my pip-boy.

Either way. Radiation sickness is not fun, trust me. ( Read more... )

radiation is not fun, event, psa, gnr, radio times

I'm less worried about that sort of thing and more concerned about this virtual business and what it is the announcement meant by "what we aim to achieve".

Well yes. But getting radiation sickness won't help people think straight.

True. And it's better to avoid potential harm. But, I'm sure there are those who don't need to worry about the threat.

True.

The whole virtual thing is interesting too.

And would explain quite a bit of the impossible situations this town presents.

I've been in something similar to this too. It was a virtual reality program. But that was something created and built in my world. And I remember getting in it.

Your world has such technology? How similar was it to this?

It looked ....almost exactly like this. But it was only a street. Tranquillity Lane. And it controlled by a scientist who took the form of a little girl.

He controlled everything in there. He was using it to torture the residents of the vault. He'd been doing it for years and years.

That is a little too close to this scenario than comfortable. Perhaps this is a similar set up? Using technology to cast this gigantic illusion?

That's what I've been trying to figure out. I managed to break out of the last one because there was a fail-safe built in and I broke this weird sound lock on it.

It was inside an abandoned house. But I haven't found one of those here.

[She doesn't say anything for quite a while considering that possibility.]

Considering some of the residents, those with control, it may be somewhere we can't easily reach. If such a thing exists in this place as it did to the one you were familiar with.

That's what I'm thinking.

I'm still keeping an eye out for one, just in case though.

A prudent decision. Hopefully you may end up finding such a thing.
