chilly chilly love.
i've been on (another) frozen food kick the past couple days. Tonight I put my green apple sparkling cider sorbet base into the machine and it turned out to be icy, refreshing, not-too-sweet, fresh apple, chilly chilly love.
Yesterday (happy 4th.) i made a raspberry rose sorbet to take to Bong's (yes, that's his name.) BBQ. It was fine and fun -- the usual crew was hanging out -- Kevin, Kyle, Bong, Sandy, Brandon, Ally, Phoebe, Ian, Jeremy and me. There was food, and grilling, and experimental corn (good) and experimental potato salad (not that great) and cheese (oh god, the cheese) and tons of chips and talking and goodness. We went to the top of Potrero Hill and watched the fireworks (lovely -- two shows that were oddly coordinated) and then went back to the townhouse and hung out for a little bit.
At the end of the night i caught a ride home with the boys and ended up hanging out at the beach with sandy for a bit. (it was so nice. sitting in the car, watching the street roll by and hearing "do you want to go to the beach?" from him instead of me. ^_^) he's lovely, he really is. we found an ex-fire and sat around it wrapped in blankets for a few minutes until the beach patrol came by and shooed us towards the fire pits they had built for the 4th. I can't ever really tell how he feels about me -- it's hot and cold and unpredictable. At the moment I think he likes me, maybe a lot. I'm just glad to spend time with him. I think he was burned badly by some girl back in the day which compounds his naturally solitary nature and makes it hard for a girl like me to get close. le sigh.
i'm making a chocolate sorbet tomorrow, i think. i don't know.
it's bedtime, i'm tired, i'm going to go to sleep and try not to have nightmares. (scary scary dreams lately. bad bad things.)
