Okay seriously I'm going to sleep after this. But what of my IRL journal...?
So, I've been having trouble with clubs-- I wanted to try fencing or kendo in college, you know, expand my martial arts horizons. But apparently it was not to be: fencing has a good teacher and enthusiastic students, but is too much electronic stuff and point-oriented. Kendo would be great to learn, but I didn't like the guy in charge, and they seemed to take themselves to seriously. AND judo is at the same time as anime club and band. :|
Go figure, band, anime and judo (they don't have jujitsu) are the three I really want to do.
Anyway, the people at judo seem very friendly and enthusiastic, and the class was good (as far as I can judge from one session). The teacher's accent was hard to understand, but the other students could explain, and it probably wouldn't take long to get used to. The teacher is very old-- apparently his brother was part of the army invading China in WW2. o_o He ended the class with a little speech about friendships being more important than nationalities and prejudices and the past. It was sad, because he was thinking about it because one of his best friends died recently, he said.
So guys: what do I do about anime and band?
P.S. Also I went to the riflery safety talk today so I can try shooting on Monday but don't really plan on joining (unless Monday is OMG AMAZAN). Okay shikuchi?
