Wandering, literally and mentally

Funniest thing today: someone asks me, while "Hare Hare Yukai" is playing, "Is that Dragonforce?"

...Anyway. I've survived a week, and things have been good and bad recently.
Thursday was the activities fair-- I signed up for way more than I can manage and some even conflict with each other, but they're no commitment, so I see which I can manage and like best. Here's the list:
-Symphony Band- have a class time conflict with orchestra, and don't want to do pep band.
-Judo- closest to jujitsu they have.
-Fencing- they think they're better than kendo.
-Kendo-they think they're better than fencing.
-Archery
-Riflery- So, the person there knew my name from band and sort of singled me out to try to get me to join... but like I said, no commitment >_>
-Anime- the recruitment girl from this group was very friendly and we talked a lot. Apparently, some OCR people came to some sort of con here before and might do so again this year!
-DDR- Yes, there is a DDR club. I got to play a few rounds before my coughing got to bad and I decided to head home. :D It was pretty late by then.

Yesterday we went on a walking tour of Troy for Nature and Society. We got a much better look around than we did during NRB. There were a lot of cool buildings, and afterwards everyone got to get a drink at The Daily Grind, teacher's treat, while we talked. It was good. The teacher's son, I believe, showed up as we were all heading out-- he was 7-9 ish, and had long hair (like his dad). You could tell he was a boy if you looked at his face, but a man still mistook him for a girl when he tried to go into the "wrong" bathroom. The kid was a bit indignant, but didn't seem to understand why the man had been confused. I wonder, who decided he would have long hair, his parents or him?
It was "Troy Night Out," so a group of us wandered around the city for a bit before heading back, but nothing was actually going on. We did get to go to an art gallery though, and there were some spiffy pieces there. There was also local children's art on display.

That night I was going to see Speed Racer (a club shows movies at the DCC now and then), but ended up not being able to. Instead though, I got LOE's card done, then hung out with Andrea and a few other kids from our hall, watching Youtube stuff and showing each other music. There's a "End of the World" parody for RPI, called "End of the 'tute". Who knew? It was funny, but then I realized none of you would get most of the jokes. :(

I've been having trouble opening a bank account here. >:/ But it looks like that'll be resolved soon.
For work study I had to fill out MOAR FORMS and I have to write about why I want to be with the program I was ASSIGNED TO AND ALREADY IN. bleh.

But! Ending on a good note: I got the healing angel a birthday present! And finished his card.
