[In one of the rooms of the Starscape, Toboe is fast asleep. Stretched out on the bed, he is laying on top of the arm of his unfortunate room guest. The wolf's ears twitch in his sleep, a piece of the blanket between his teeth. He appears to be dreaming, and if the muted growls and tug of his teeth are anything to go on, he's probably dreaming of

[Dreams were always rare things for Wataru, but he dreamed this night of something that he would likely forget, as he was beginning to sense something strange. He feels something furry and mammalian next to him, but he keeps his eyes closed, slowly bringing himself from dream to reality. His hands touch the creature beside him, stroking the fur and deftly wondering if somehow Kivat had turned into a real bat before realizing real bats were not so soft and not so big.

[His eyes open slowly, revealing the outline of something strange and almost foreign to him. That's a big dog, he thinks before closing his eyes again. Dogs seemed to like him, probably because of his Fangire blood or perhaps it was something else, but instead of shying away from the beast, he moves himself toward the warm creature, settling a hand to scratch behind the dog's ears.]

[Underneath the fur, every muscle in the wolf's body tensed for a moment, urging Toboe to fight or flee. Instinct telling him this was not where he was supposed to be. But in his still mostly asleep state, the scratching did feel nice, and this human did not smell of gunpowder or danger.]

[Two golden eyes opened slowly, a rumble of a growl low in his throat. His glance darts around the room, warning signs going off that this is inside and he is trapped. The wolf makes no movement to run, yet, the growl dieing out as he studies this human. Curiosity overcoming fear for the moment.]

[A small sound comes from the back of Wataru's throat as the creature moves, waking from slumber, his hand stopping the scratching it had been doing. It really was a very big dog, but it didn't seem to be wanting to flee or to bite him, so that was a good sign.]

I won't hurt you... [His voice is rather calm, different from how it usually is around humans, when it falls into a timid, soft voice. He returns to scratching the dog's ears a little before stopping and slowly pulling away.]

[Finally, he looks around to realize that this is not his room. There were no violins, no tools, no odds and ends, no strange found objects. This was very much not his room, much as the bed was not his, and the dog seemed to be no one's at all. A stray or a wild beast, maybe. Despite the odd nature of the situation, he returns his gaze to the dog.]

Are you lost, too?

[The human's soft voice confuses Toboe and he stills, waiting for the other to make a move. His eyes follow the gaze, looking around the room with a small whine. Indoors was no place for a wolf.]

[His ears twitch and he jumps off the bed, walking up to a boarded up window and scratching at it. The sounds of the sandstorm still strong outside.]

[Wataru watches the dog jumped from the bed, though he himself lets out a little yawn as the only indication of being surprised.] You want outside ( ... )

[Toboe sits next to the window, his eyes still on Wataru. The wolf was used to these sandstorms once in a while, and this place inside shielded him from the biting sand winds and howling noises.]

[Hesitantly, he takes a single step forward toward the stranger, his ears still slightly back. If this human was lost, then he had not captured and locked Toboe in here. Why wasn't he afraid of the wolf?]

[A padded foot and the clack of nail indicated that the dog had moved and his eyes peer downward to see that this lost creature had come closer to him. The more time he spent looking over this beast, the more he realized that this was probably not a dog at all. It was big and feral and a little scruffy, but it wasn't a bad sort of scruffy.]

[Slowly, he seats himself on the weathered wood floor, facing the dog-like creature. If this animal were to suddenly turn on him, he would be an easy target, but it seemed just as confused as he was, so there was a possibility that he wouldn't be attacked. Besides, the more he stared at this "dog," taking its appearance in and letting it settle into his brain, the more he was beginning to think that it might possibly be something that he really shouldn't be alone in an unfamiliar room with. His voice still soft, he asked the beast as calmly as he could, though there was a bit of a shiver to its timbre,] You're a wolf, a-aren't you...?

[Toboe took another hesitant step forward and sat down, just barely within reach of Wataru. There was the brief prickle of fear in that voice but the human appeared to be submissive.]

[Swishing his tail around once, Toboe slowly slides down until he is laying down, facing Wataru. At the word wolf, his ears perk back up. Maybe this person is smarter than he looks. At least now Toboe knows he is not being mistaken for a dog, and this serves to confuse him more.]

[It was quite amazing that even a wolf could give that same sort of confused expression that domesticated dogs could. It was sort of cute. He smiles at the beast.] A wolf...

[Wataru glances around the room again, looking for the door and finding it directly behind him. Carefully, he stands up, walking to the door, testing the handle. He looks back at the wolf and smiles.] It's not locked. [He opens it, showing the creature that it's unlocked, revealing a hall and letting in the rowdy sounds downstairs.]

A room is no place for a wolf.

[Toboe gets up with a start, looking out the door. This person was giving him a way out. Taking a few steps to the door he stopped next to Wataru.]

[Looking up and back to the door the wolf hesitated, bumping Wataru's hand with his head lightly in thanks.]

[A passing stroke when his hand is bumped is the only indication that Wataru gives the wolf, beaming a smile down to it. He doesn't really seem bothered by the fact that he's letting loose a wild animal into whatever establishment he's found himself in, and makes a little motion to let the animal run free from what was a temporary cage.]

You're welcome.

[With that the wolf takes off out the door and down the halls, in search of an exit from the building. There were too many human smells in this building, and too many weapons. There was no further glance back as Toboe vanished from view.]
