"Car Wrecks Barely Ever Alter The Universe" - J. Hayes.

I was always under the impression that the emphasis of college was on learning (beer and learning, but there was learning none-the-less). However, as i sit and reflect back on my 2 and 1/2 semesters so far, i dont think i've learned anything at all. I never watch the news anymore, i'm not involved in any community service, or church/faith/God related activities,i dont talk to my family very much, or any adults for that matter, and i am barely staying afloat in my classes. My mind is never being challenged, and when it is, its in topics that are of no interest to me and so i digress and find an alternative mind-numbing activity with which to pass my time. So what did i learn? How to make a decent mixed drink? How to abstain from making a liqour-face? I really just dont know. I dont doubt that i picked up a few useless facts here and there. I dont know what i'm supposed to do, or where to go, i want some drugs.

Mr. Hayes, my insanely intelligent new testament proffesor said something incredibly innacurate today, but i didnt think it was my place to correct him. He said, "car wrecks barely ever alter the universe" we were taking notes at the time, but clearly this was his analogy that was not to be written, however to me this was an incredibly pertinent statement, and so i did write it down. I think car wrecks do alter the universe, and i realize he meant the overall universe, and the majority of the time i'm talking personal universe, but its still true nonetheless. I can think of 3 car wrecks that completely altered my universe, and then the universe of many surrounding the victims of the car wreck, and those who saw it happen, and friends and family of both of those, and so on. It can spread like wildfire. In addition to the fact that, there are thousands of car wrecks a day all of the world. Granted, a 2 car car wreck cannot possibly affect everyone in the world, but it could affect everyone that matters to you... everyone who is your world could be gone.
