My last few days at work were so strange.
On Thursday I had an afternoon tea party with the day staff which was absolutely lovely. I really thought I wouldn't cry but of course I did! They gave me a bottle of champagne and an Issey Miyake perfume which I love. Leaving a job, it is always the people that make it hardest and I really have had a great bunch of colleagues.
On Friday I worked the evening show and when I came out of my office the whole Front of House team were there with champagne! I managed a slightly less teary speech but I still had a little blubber as I was so overwhelmed by the amount of gifts and kindness. We all headed out for a night out to the Queen Shilling where our friend was hosting a fundraiser for pride. It was so much fun and there was a Britney Spears power hour which was great fun. I drank a lot. I drank a whole bottle of gin on my own. It was crazy. I can't remember how Samir and I got home and I was mostly sad that I found my cheesy chips in the morning on my bedroom side table untouched which is so unlike me!
We had killer hangovers on Saturday morning as we headed to Birmingham to see Samir's step mum and two little sisters. We had a relaxed day of going to the park and playing with Amina and Yasmin. When they had gone to bed we had a proper catch up with Claire and hid them loads of eggs around the house which we had brought with us. They woke up very early on Sunday, I think they were as excited as Christmas. It was adorable watching them find their eggs and they insisted on making us breakfast to say thank you. They gave me - Cheerios, toast, a hot cross bun and three biscuits so quite a feast. We decided to take them to the Birmingham Botanical gardens as they were hosting an Easter treasure hunt and other activities and it ment Claire had some time to herself. It was such a great day which included a picnic lunch, face painting and a lot of people referring to me as the girl's mum which was slightly weird as Amina is 8! Samir said I should take it as a compliment as it meant people thought I was good with them. We had pizza for dinner and then headed back to Bristol last night so a short but very sweet trip.
Today I have been catching up with Seren and Eva and planning our next craft activities. Eva gave me a beautiful box filled with Easter goodies, which included a chocolate and courgette cake (which I am currently enjoying a generous slice of). The weather is so beautiful here that we spent the day wandering around Bristol and as I went for a long run this morning I am now absolutely shattered. Tonight I am going out for dinner for a friends Birthday and tomorrow will be spent relaxing and preparing for my new job which I start on Wednesday.
In other news we've been told we have to move out of our flat which is a total bummer as it is so cheap and right next to the station where I'll catch my train to Bath from for my new job. It just goes to show that you can be as organised as you like and life can throw you a huge curve ball. Samir and I have had a big chat and we are moving in together! I have to leave by 29th of June but as I'm at Glastonbury festival then I am hoping to find somewhere to rent from the start of June so there is a big cross over. However if I have to wait until July we have Samir's current place I can stay in and my Aunty has also offered me her spare room if I need some more time. I feel like I have no time to do anything especially as I will need to use my holiday days for my cousin's wedding and various other plans so won't be able to take time off work to move. So for the foreseeable future my evenings and weekends will be spent sorting and boxing things up and house hunting. I've already put a ton of stuff on Ebay and taken out 3 bin bags of rubbish from my room so I am sure I'll get there and I think it will be awesome to live with Samir, I definitely feel ready and I want more space.
I can't believe the next time I'll update will be after I've started my new job, wish me luck!
