- Yew trees are planted in church-yards because their berries are poisonous to cattle. They are also extremely gooey.
- Back before gravestones went vertical, they were placed in the ground horizontally over the grave, sometimes as a part of a walk-way or church floor. I can't bring myself to step on these gravestones. If I see them, I go around them. I don't know exactly why. It seems kind of disrespectful. Odd.
- I like blackberries straight from the bush, even if they are a tad bitter.
- New York seems modeled after London. The Met and the British Museum both claim William the Blue Hippo (an egyptian faience) as their mascot. I wonder which one actually has it, or if it travels in-between.
- They don't do ice in restaurants in the UK. Drinks are cold, but rarely iced.
- My jet lag has turned me into a morning person. I wake up at 7am and get tired by 9 or 10pm. Can you believe it?
