Yeah.
Saturday Night Fever is a spectacularly boring movie.
Except for the dancey bits, and not even all of those are good.
It's also a foul, dirty, racist, misogynistic, homophobic, terrible, plotless movie that also involves rape.*
I like the cut of the shirt collars and the men's pants.
I like how sweet he is to his little sister.
I like Travolta's lips and slim build and that little dimple on his chin.
I like the classical music they throw in occasionally.
I dislike everything else about the thing.
Everything.
But there's a few minutes left on the tape so I guess it still has a chance, albeit a slim one, to redeem a little of it's value.
...
Wait....
That's it?
They end up FRIENDS? And he's what... not going home?
WTH... that's the worst ending ever.
That entire movie was POINTLESS.
Oh, and you know that picture on the cover... yeah, never really happens. His best dance scene is not in that spiffy white suit, and, while it is a good scene, does not redeem the rest of that sorry excuse for a film.
In short, this movie pisses me off.
I can't believe I just wasted two hours of my life watching it. I can't believe I wasted a dollar on it.
*borrows thumbs from friends so I can give it more than two thumbs down*
*I cannot stand rape. I would rather watch someone being brutally murdered than watch a girl being raped.
