OK, so that was the roughest week yet in this rough semester.
I hated the world for most of it, thanks to hormonal imbalance, and then the Time of Evil was upon us, bringing with it more mental stability, but at a high cost. Being a girl is like living on the stupidest rollercoaster ever, it just goes up and down, down and up, month in and month out for 40ish years. I was also sore as the dickens from juggling and hating the cold weather.
And in the midst of all this I was glazing like a fiend. Spent two strait days in the ceramics room glazing. Although checking out a projector and screen from Facilities helped with the tedium. I watched UK and Australian Top Gear episodes all night before crashing in my studio, waking up and doing it all again.
Then, as the perfect end to the perfect day, there was a kiln disaster last night.
Brooks and I were still glazing, and others loaded it improperly. You have to be sure EVERY SHELF is solid as rock or it will collapse as you push the cart in or pull it out.
Yeah, It did.
We saved most of the work through careful extraction, but everyone lost a piece or two. We had to unload, vacuum, then re-load the kiln, starting at 11pm, following about 13 strait hours of glazing. Huzzah. Didn't get home till 1:30, and I wasn't able to find anywhere to buy sushi on the way home.
I've been craving Sushi lately.
And to top it all off I have Mt.Vesuvius growing on my chin.
This is a bigger deal then it seems because not only do I look as bad as I feel but It's also very foreboding. I don't know when it will blow, but I fear that it will take half my face with it when it goes.
