Some books should be made illegal.
I swear they can be as addictive as crack.
Crack in a cover.
I am speaking, of course, of the Twilight series.
(At this point you may shake your head in shame and despair for my sanity. Shake my friends, shake away)
I read the first one in one night because I could not bring myself to put it down.
For the last week I have been thinking about it almost constantly.
Like obsessive, night and day, constantly.
I know it's just a romance novel for young adults with a quirky and slightly demented twist...
But it's a really good romance novel for young adults with a quirky and slightly demented twist.
Everything I hate about it, I love.
And the author just HAD to add that little snippet of the next novel at the end.
It's as bad as those drug dealers handing out free hits to get people hooked.
Every bit as effective.
So I need to read the next one this weekend, then spend another week obsessing till I can read the last one. Then spend the next week obsessing until the movie comes out.
There is a very good reason why I try not to read fun books during the school year.
I'm like a book vampire... abstinence is the only control.
I have issues, man.
Is it a psychological thing that makes some people more susceptible to the allure of the written word?
If so... what is it and is there medication for it?
(I doubt it since it's prolly more akin to alcoholism than mental illness. We need a Bibliophiles Anonymous to deal with our problem.)

They print the books with crack-infused ink.
You absorb it while reading and you can't get enough.
