Reilly's 5th Birthday
Five....FIVE years ago today I gave birth to what I hope will be one of the most amazing men ever to come across peoples lives.
So far, he's caring, empathic, intelligent, funny, creative, logical and silly. He's also five and everything bad that can come with it, but I'm lucky; my reality is that it's few and far between compared to MOST kids his age I've seen.
it's been five years. And no, I'm not like a lot of mom's that get teary eyed thinking about it. Sure, I'm in amazement of what the past five years have brough, not just him but with myself. And yet, it's only five years when you look at the big picture. So many more to look forward to.
And no, I'm not like a lot of folks that get scared or concerned or sad thinking about him growing up. I know I'm doing the best I can, and yes, I have a lot of help with him that is CERTAINLY appreciated. But the proof is in the proverbial pudding and for all the baggage that this little one has started out with, with all the baggage his Mummy has and he inevitably has to deal with, he's a pretty damn well adjusted kiddo.
I couldnt be any more proud.
