Vanilla Loli Conest + Red Rose Colored Skirt

Jul 10, 2007 21:02

I finished constructing the burgandy skirt I've been working on but I took a look at it & realized "the lace I used is huge & kills the skirt!!!" I was thinking about removing the lace & replacing it with a different one. But then I paid for 6.5 yards of lace & I would feel like I was wasting my own money if I didn't use it (I don't know where else to use it :/). I'm still not sure. Now that the actual skirt part is finished I really like the color of the fabric n_n. At first I was worried about looking too "Christmas-y" cause I was using a reddish fabric with white lace. But I think if I put the outfit together correctly it may look lovely ^_^ The color of this skirt reminds me very much of a red rose; its darker than just red (which reminds me; I still haven't taken pictures of the cherry print skirt I made. Its mainly because I would prefer to have a picture of me in a complete outfit rather than the skirt itself.)

Also, there's another contest being held. This time its for the Yahoo! Group Vanilla Loli. Our moderator is planning to launch a Vanilla Loli website & she decided to hold a contest for the group members to draw a mascot to be featured on the site. Amazingly I just finished drawing mine (I think I finished in less than an hour.) I'm just waiting for the ink to dry (cause I've had some BAD experiences with erasing ink that isn't completely dry & destroying a good drawing -_-;;;.) I hope to win this contest mainly because it makes me happy to know that people like my work. And unlike the last contest I entered this one will be voted on by the members of Vanilla Loli so its a wider audience (as opposed to the deviant art contest which was chosen buy a panel of judges. It was more of a personal contest than a major deviant art contest so don't go thinking "wow! You won a contest against everyone else on DA?! You's a gangsta!!!" ^^;;;.).
