Belly Button
Today I freaked out for no good reason (I found out later it was no good reason at least)
Aislinn's belly button was bleeding around her umbilical cord.
We'd seen blood around it before, and we'd clean the blood away and keep the alcohol on it like the Dr. said, but today we actually saw it bleeding..
I was in a panic... I didn't know what to do (Yeah.. all those years of First Aid, and even being a first aid instructor.. I FROZE)... I had to get Doug, and he was telling me what to do and he was taking care of her.. I feel like such an idiot.
We called the Dr. to ask, he called us back and said that as long as it wasn't constant, or heavy, that it was perfectly normal for her belly button to bleed, and that it was a sign that the cord was separating from the skin down there... Just part of the process of losing her cord.. *sigh*
I feel like a fool for panicking...
