The black convertible crunched to a slow halt, its streamlined shape nearly invisible in the darkness. The dim light made its silhouette dance on the gravel road. Shou let his hands fall from the steering wheel into his lap, throwing a glance at his beautiful, unhappy passenger. Her eyes were already on him, dark with unspoken emotion.

Shou flashed the girl a little smile and placed a hand on hers. "Don't mind Saga," he purred soothingly. "He's been rather tensed up lately. I'm sure he didn't mean to snap at you like that." The vocalist's grasp was firm yet comforting - with quiet satisfaction, he saw the storm in her eyes cease a little.

"I know," she sighed. "But I do get in the way sometimes, don't I?" Her voice was distant and uncertain, her eyes mesmerised with the way Shou's platinum hair glistened under the moonlight. "Saga's words weren't entirely wrong. Stars do belong nowhere but in the sky."

Shou frowned slightly at her statement. "I want to take you somewhere." Seemingly a split second later, he was by her side, holding the door open for her. Smiling, she stepped out of the car. The lanky man gathered the girl into his arms and let her bury her face into the nape of his neck, breathing in his scent. Shou tilted her head and drew her lips into a soft kiss, willing her fears to go away.

"Come." The smiling blonde walked towards a stone path she recognized as the one leading to the beach. She followed him obediently down the winding walkway, smelling the sea salt and the crashing of waves as the path progressed. A monochrome sight greeted the two as they reached their destination - silvery waves against steely sand, awash with moonlight.

"The sea never sleeps," she stated quietly as they sat on the edge of the shore, letting the shimmery waves tickle their bare feet. The hem of her pale green dress flapped about her knees in the breeze.

Shou smiled in response, lying down onto his back. He put an arm around the long-haired girl as she lay down beside him. "Neither do your thoughts." Then they were silent, their eyes trained on the inky midnight sky above, and the little specks of light that shone.

Suddenly, Shou sat up wordlessly and began rooting for something in the pocket of his leather jacket. The girl watched him with curiosity as he pulled out a box the size of his palm and handed it to her. "For you."

Smiling at him, she undid the silky ribbon around the box and revealed its contents. It was a silver star-shaped pendant and chain. At the heart of the pendant was a large round diamond, shining brilliantly as it caught the light.

"Turn it around," Shou coaxed. There were some detailing engraved into the back of the pendant. Squinting in the dim light, she realized it was a single, familiar kanji character. The kanji nickname of the man she loved so much.

"This star will always belong to you," the vocalist whispered, cradling her in his arms. She giggled softly and kissed him lightly on the lips. Then she rested her head on his strong shoulder, her precious little box held close to her heart.

Her eyes lidded as she listened to her beloved's even breathing, mixed with the soothing sounds of the sea.
