Pairing Implied ShouxHiroto
Summary: It was a chilly Christmas Eve, but Hiroto wasn’t cold. Not when they had each other.
Comments: My Christmas gift to all of you! My twin,
chirorichan helped inspire this, so thank you darling! ♥ I hoped you all enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. The ShouxHiroto is only implied, hence it's a very possible scene in real life... so even if you’re not a fan of this pairing, why not give it a try?

Hiroto leaned into his propped-up pillow, strumming his acoustic guitar lazily. His head bopped to its rhythm as the peaceful melody of Kousai drifted across the room - the perfect song to end a long, tiring day of photoshoots, interviews and rehearsals. He didn’t seem bothered by the fact that it was nearly 2am in the morning, or that there was the all-important Christmas live coming up in a few hours’ time.
Hiroto squinted across the room, his fingers still plucking at the chords he knew too well. A childish, wide grin promptly spread across his face. Shou was sitting spread-eagled on his bed with his reading glasses on, reading fanmail. At least, that was what he was doing only a few minutes ago. Shou’s head was now drooping slightly to his left, his mouth wide open. He was fast asleep.
Hiroto suddenly felt a twang of something in him. Jealousy, perhaps? It definitely wasn’t fair that Shou could look like an angel even while he slept. (Maybe especially so! But Hiroto deleted the thought as soon as it came.) He pouted, finishing his song a little impatiently. There was something he wanted to do that he couldn’t resist. Hiroto slid off his bed to take a closer look at Shou’s sleeping face.
Only God knew how long Hiroto sat crouched on a patch of floor next to Shou’s bed, fascinated. Shou’s face twitched sometimes when he slept, in between soft, rhythmic breathing. Once again, Hiroto felt an unrecognized emotion swell up inside him, distracting him temporarily. How annoying. He shook his head in an attempt to clear it up. The innocent movement stirred the air, causing the fanletter Shou was reading to fall out of his slack hands. It effectively hit Hiroto on the head, prompting an automatic “Itai!” from the younger man. Shou’s head immediately jerked up at the sound.
“…nggh? Hiroto? Whatcha doing on the floor?...” Shou’s voice was crackly with sleep. He looked tired.
Oops. Caught in the act. Hiroto faked a bright smile, changing the topic. “Oi, it’s already Christmas. Merry Christmas, Shou!” He said happily, bouncing off the floor a little.
“Ah… souka.” Shou smiled sleepily, taking off his reading glasses and peering outside the window. “A few hours more till our live. Don’t sleep too late, Pon.”
“Un. Can’t sleep… I’m too excited for tomorrow.” Hiroto fidgeted a little. The freezing floor wasn’t really comfortable to sit on, but he was too numb to get up. “Besides, it’s cold today though. Wonder if it’d snow?” Hiroto’s voice trailed off hopefully.
“Hm~ Snow is good, who knows?” Shou stretched lithely, catlike in a way. “But you’re right, it’s really cold today. Since it’s so cold… want to sleep together tonight?” He said warmly, smiling when he met Hiroto’s eyes. The excitement in them immediately gave him away. “Just don’t kick me off the bed like you did that time. You football maniac.” Shou joked, avoiding the grinning boy’s half-hearted smack on his shoulder.
A few minutes later, after some heavy bedframe-moving and thumping (and several calls to keep it down from an annoyed Tora next door), they finally got their beds lined up right under the window. Hiroto had insisted because he wanted to gaze at the sky a bit more. Shou complied; where they were sleeping didn’t matter, because they’d both be up before the crack of dawn for a photoshoot anyway.
“Look, Shou. No moon tonight… but there’s a little star over there. Look at the little darling.” Hiroto pointed, wriggling from his bed to get a better look. “… ne Shou-kun, if we’re lucky, we might even see Santa in the sky tonight!” Hiroto chuckled at his own little joke, but there was no response. Hiroto rolled over to take a peek - Shou had fallen asleep again.
Sigh, the sucker… always needing so much beauty sleep. At least we know where the beauty came from now.
Hiroto stopped and considered the last thought for a few seconds; then gave his head a little shake, and crawled back under his sheets. He didn’t care how wrong it sounded. After all, Shou was sleeping next to him right now. Surely, he had the license to fantasize a little.
Hiroto snuggled closer to Shou’s sleeping form, pulling his blankets together with him. Then he sneaked under Shou’s sheets, warm from the older man’s body heat. Hiroto smiled, satisfied.
He was with Shou, after all. Nothing else really mattered.
