I have this kind of on-off relationship with running, where I am very enthusiastic for a couple of weeks and run lots, and then die off for a week or so before getting back into it. This is not good. I really need to be more consistent and stop using unconvincing excuses. With this is mind, I've entered myself for a 10km in Oxford in May, and am telling everyone about it so that they all keep asking how my training is going. Guilt-trip running is still running :D Did 5.5 miles today so am pretty confident I'll be able to do the distance if I keep up the mileage, but I would like to get a decent time as well.
I have a big deadline on Monday and I can't decide whether I should be pleased with my work or not. We basically had to design a scientific paper: research it, come up with a detailed methodology, calculate some test data and then analyse and discuss the data. I was really happy with mine, it's a simple experiment but this is good as it's feasible, practical and easy to replicate. My research is good and calculating the results was fine. My stats probably need more work, but that's about it. All fine and dandy, right? Except that the max word count is 3000 and mine is 2100 including all the tables and everything. There's no minimum, but a count that low can't be good. I've had a look through two that were submitted last year and I can't really see what else they've added. A few more stats, I suppose. One girl has done a whole massive intro but it's mostly rubbish (she's referenced Wiki, for one thing!) and I like mine concise and actually relevent. So, blah. I'm reluctant to add words for the sake of it, but mine is really so short that I feel I should. Thoughts, anyone?
