My Shame

Dec 20, 2010 11:35

oxfordgirl is blackmailing me for use of her printer.

"(11:26:36 AM) Helen Walter: blog your shame and you may use my printer :P"

Therefore, as I really quite need to be able to print stuff out for my Jobseekers meeting tomorrow, here goes!

I admit that I totally don't know which large bodies of water in Oxford with canal boats and locks on them are Oxford Canal, and which large bodies of water in Oxford with canal boats and locks on them are not Oxford Canal.

(11:13:02 AM) Helen Walter: my office flooded
(11:13:09 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: *Woeface*
(11:13:26 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: Do you need a canoe?
(11:13:33 AM) Helen Walter: no
(11:13:36 AM) Helen Walter: I took my laptop and went home
(11:13:43 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: There are some just down by the canal!
(11:13:47 AM) Helen Walter: nick 'em
(11:13:49 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: I could nick one for you!
(11:13:50 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: :D
(11:13:52 AM) Helen Walter: the canal is frozen over
(11:13:53 AM) Helen Walter: what canal?
(11:13:55 AM) Helen Walter: Why are you near a canal?
(11:14:09 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: I live near the canal..
(11:14:19 AM) Helen Walter: ....what canal??
(11:14:22 AM) Helen Walter: do you mean the River Thames?
(11:14:27 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: Like 2min walk. 1min jog.
(11:14:33 AM) Helen Walter: the River Thames isn't a canal
(11:14:38 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: Its a canal. It has canal boats on it.
(11:14:56 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: It has weird water height adjusty... locks. It has locks
(11:14:59 AM) Helen Walter: they're river boats
(11:15:01 AM) Helen Walter: because it's a river
(11:15:27 AM) Helen Walter: they're also river locks
(11:15:29 AM) Helen Walter: like you get
(11:15:33 AM) Helen Walter: on major British rivers
(11:15:35 AM) Helen Walter: like the Thames
(11:16:19 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: It also connects to Cambden via the GRAND UNION CANAL
(11:16:36 AM) Helen Walter: yes
(11:16:43 AM) Helen Walter: there are many canals that connect the Thames to other rivers
(11:16:45 AM) Helen Walter: and all sorts of other things
(11:20:32 AM) Helen Walter: she is WASHING. her TINY PAWS.
(11:21:08 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: :)
(11:21:15 AM) Helen Walter: she sat on Joff's shou
(11:21:50 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: On a brief side note, you have a printer don't you? Is there any chance I could borrow it?
(11:22:57 AM) Helen Walter: uh, sorry, experienced some cat/keyboard interface there
(11:23:21 AM) Helen Walter: yeah, we have a printer
(11:23:23 AM) Helen Walter: you are welcome to it :)
(11:23:34 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: :) Yay!
(11:23:35 AM) Helen Walter: if you admit that the River Thames is, in fact, a river
(11:24:16 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: I will admit that the river Thames is a river. Not a canal. Unlike Oxford canal...
(11:25:27 AM) Helen Walter: Oxford canal runs under Hythe Bridge....
(11:26:12 AM) littlefeltfangs@gmail.com/290D3BA0: I did not claim that the bit of water that I was near was a Canal in that last sentence...
(11:26:36 AM) Helen Walter: blog your shame and you may use my printer :P
