My nerd moment of the day:
Standing in the kitchen with my brother and his friend Segar:
Segar: "Man... there's no cream for my coffee.... guess I could always use butter."
Marley: "Oh god, that's horrible. Although to be honest, sometimes I've been desperate enough to consider it."
Segar: "Whatever. It's the same thing."
Marley: "Except not really. Butter is all... oily."
Segar: "No way, man. It could work."
Me, stupidly chiming in: "Yeah, like butter beer!"
Marley: "Butter beer?"
Segar, looking as confused as my brother: "Yeah, what's butter beer?"
Me, sheepishly realizing that I just revealed myself as a total nerd: "Oh... I guess that's just... one of those things that only exists in Harry Potter books..."
Marley: "Yeeaaaahh.... I guess sooo....."
Der.
