Back and forth
Wow.. I gotta tell you, I went down to the mac store, ready to buy an ibook or even a powerbook if the ibook didn't suit me...
...and I was not impressed. At all.
I was so eager to be sold on them, I was. I pleaded with the salespeople to convince me to buy one.... but they just didn't sell it.
It took 45 second to a minute to fucking open photoshop. That's really no different than my retarded, beat up G3. The start up/shut down time was slow, it lagged in general, so now...

I'm seriously considering it now. They just seem to snap in a way that macs don't. They have zip. However, I just don't trust PCs. They seem to self destruct pretty often, not to mention the whole virus thing..
Anyway, the numbers just didn't add up. You get nearly double the memory, the chipset speed, the frontside bus, the ram and all sorts of other things in a PC v. a mac and in some cases, for a cheaper price than mac. So then what the hell am I paying for? The apple logo?
Argh. Why can't I just get the best of both worlds? The reliability and nice, easy programs and user interface of a mac, with the zip and universality of the PC?
Adam suggested building a laptop and shelling it to be like a mac. *shrug*
Now I'm wondering if I should even bother getting a new computer.
