First College Class
Also, first calligraphy class. Forget preschool! Yesterday was the last calligraphy class of the fall session where we spend a little time putting together small class books that contain copies of our recent student work. Since it's mostly a party atmosphere, the instructor allowed Heidi to come to class with me.

To our surprise, everyone had a stuffed animal at her desk. Heidi received a polar bear that shet spent some time cuddling before going to everyone elses desk trying to pull at their toy, too. She was very good at the end, leaving all the other animals behind just like she put back some of the Halloween candy when she went trick-or-treating.

She sat in her own chair between myself and my usual table mate, Tiffany. There she spent some time drawing with a mechanical pencil, so it really was a writing class for her!

As I expected, we needed to leave early. But we had already made our books and watched the demonstrations, so other than talking to the others about calligraphy, there wasn't anything I missed.

Stinky
Whenever it's time to change her diaper, she starts waving her hand, indicating "stinky, like skunk". Wolf and I joke about the "Stink Factor Scale" with her. She also waves her arms like this when we point to or handle the diaper pail.

Second sentence
Last week, she started imitating me as I made the "grarghg" noise of the garage door whenever Wolf came home. Yesterday, she said, "Poppop Grarghh" at almost the right time for when he usually comes home and the car door sound comes. Unfortunately, I had the car, so I had to explain to her that we needed to go get poppop. So I called Wolf up to let him know Heidi had decided it was time to come home. He laughed, realizing he was so engrossed in his work that it would have been quite late (past usual) before he had gotten around to calling us. Heidi did him a favor.

Shiny
While out shopping before dinner the other day, Heidi walked by a number of shiny, sequined dresses. She LOVED them, touched each one and just enjoying all the sparkles. After dinner, we walked past the Oilily store, she found a the perfect dress for herself, squating down to take it in and smiling. We moved on only to have her spot the same dress in the next window where she again fell in love with it. I suspect if the store hadn't been closed that Wolf would have bought her the dress immediately; she was that adorable in her adoration of it.

Not that we in ANY way shape or form need more new clothes for Heidi at any time. We're on the last batch of Olivia Ryan's clothes (Thank You!), which seemed like it would be forever before she fit into them yet here she is already. And we have the continuous restocking from her cousins.
