so things have been a little crazy lately. there have been the good and
the bad. we'll start from the start. i'm going to
frederick community college which i actually kind of
like (for school anyway), and i'm still working at the
salon. i quit safeway. however, i'll soon be picking
up a second job, probably serving in the evenings. so
i've been working and schooling, and i was in the home
stretch of paying off my car debt. sort of. but then
friday happened. anyone local to where i am knows
what i'm talking about. there were likd 23425 tornado
watches, etc. lots of rain. i was driving to work
and had a bad accident. to make a long story short, i
lost control of my car and hit the left gaurd rail,
ricochetted out facing oncoming traffic, spun back
into the gaurd rail,
then bounced across to the right side of the high way
where i came to a stop. it is a miracle i didn't hit
anyone. so this really sucked. this is my mom's
favorite car, and i'd just wrecked it, not to mention
given myself lots more debt to worry about. but i was
glad to be alive, heh. so then there was a detour
from the negative.
on saturday, the lovely kelly holsher...
...and i took a road trip to Hoboken, New Jersey, the armpit of america for a lola ray show. we were supposed to stay at her xboyfriend, Jimmy's place. but apparently, he's an xboyfriend for a reason, and he never called her back, etc. so we didn't know quite where we'd stay. but hey, it didn't matter much, because we were going to have a good time. first, there was the car ride:
full of adventure and portus head. then, there was the seriously scary journey through the mystic portal into jersey (the toll booth) where we had to drive across several lanes to get to the east exit...it was hit the mercedes, or ramp the median. we went for the latter. then we got a little lost, then we arrived at 8PM, one hour after the show was sheduled. but that was alright, because the show was just starting. we hit the bathroom like it was nobody's business:
there were two bands that opened; one was local and i can't recall the name, but they were pretty decent, the second was dirt bike annie which i'd never heard of, but was somewhat impressed by. well, mainly by the tiny little asian girl playing the sparkly guitar...boy, was she cute:
then there was a cigarette break with james of lola ray, whom we bumped into outside the venue. then there was lola ray...fantastic set, though i didn't take any pictures of them playing. too busy shakin' booty. then there was hang out time. i met hannah, a girl from russia:
and of course, good times with himself:
then i met the beautiful marianne, and completely awesome taeko. then there was some vodka involved...well, it was a little airline bottle i bought him in honduras with a leather carrying case, hand painted, the works. but we split that and finished in a few swallows. thankfully, someone else brought a large bottle, which we promptly used to refill our small one. warm throats. good times. Xthen, there was the issue of shelter for kelly and me, but it was quickly resolved...minutes later, we were headed to queens, with a pitt stop for bagels and smokes...you can always count on friends:
then things got stranger...is it just me or is this twilight zone-esque?
john couldn't have scored a better roommate than taeko. serious. later, a few hours of sleep. next day, embraces and goodbyes. then breakfast in queens, 9/11 memorial, finding the tunnel, and the drive home. rest stop, where we modeled sunglasses:
then, just plain driving...
so that was the end of the good stuff.
i came home and cleaned room, and then had church band practice. well, that was good. it was great actually. monday was when things took a turn for the worst. i went to get estimates on my car. the first place, Preferred Auto, gave me an estimate of $7500, without having even looked at the likely damage underneath the car. my car is worth about $8000 something. then i went to Dan's Auto Body--worst mistake. ever. they cracked the latch on my hood which had been in good shape previously, and did no close my hood all the way. so when i was driving home on the highway, my hood suddenly flew up in front of my windshield. thank God it ripped off the car, or i would've had another accident for sure. i had no visibility. i pulled over in hysterics, and waited for about ten minutes to see if there were any accidents, because my hood was no where in sight. thankfully, there weren't any. i drove home with no hood on my car:
so after much thought, we decided i need to get a new car, seeing as my faithful camry is totalled. sigh...then i decided to play with my hamster, smegal to cheer me up. i've only had him a few weeks. but somehow the cat had gotten into my room...and smegal was nowhere to be found :o/ good news is, i came home tonite and my mom said, 'look in the corner of the study...what do you see?' i looked and said, 'mouse poop?' she shook her head. SMEGAL! he was cowering in the corner, and my mom had scooped him up and returned him to his cage...poor little fellow. at least, i think he's a fellow...so anyway, that's about everything. i car hunted tonite. and zachary has been awesome enough to give me rides to FCC until i get my car. so....that's the chaos of late. i doubt many people have gotten this far in my entry, but if you have, you should enjoy the honor of leaving me a comment about how much you love me and are amazed and overjoyed that i am still alive after the past weekend.
