built me from a broken heart

Oct 25, 2015 22:02

As usual, getting back into the writing habit is hard after a break, cold-induced or otherwise. Fingers crossed that updating here gets my brain back on track.

Food: Made two recipes from the Budget Bytes cookbook today. The autumn baked oatmeal feels like a luxurious breakfast despite being incredibly easy to make. I also made her coconut chicken curry a second time, but upped the cayenne pepper to 1/2 tsp. I also threw in a bag of frozen peppers. The end result: much less bland than the original recipe! Aside from the two actualfax recipes, I roasted some sweet potatoes and a spaghetti squash, then threw together a side salad. All meals taken care of through Wednesday, most meals taken care of through Friday.

Clothes: I faced up to my utter lack of work pants and bought three pairs of ponte pants from White House Black Market. I already have them in black, they are wicked comfy, and they look professional. I also invested in some cute rain boots, since my snow boots are far too warm for wet weather above 55 degrees F. Between these purchases and Halloween costume prep, I think I'm not allowed to pick up my credit card for a good while.

Music: I am a hundred years behind the times and downloaded Spotify, like, yesterday. Wow, I have the new Selena Gomez album on shuffle, and I am super into it. Via Facebook, here is an article on vowel breaking in indie pop, otherwise known as "why Selena Gomez pronounces 'good' so weird in her new song."
