her heart loves danger
Long week, but I have a day off tomorrow. (Yes, my week ends at an odd time thanks to my job.) As I wait to shower, I am going to work through the backlog of Stuff Wot I Want to Post About. Because I have been watching stuff without making commentary! THE HORROR.
I don't have a whole lot of thoughts on these episodes, other than YAY MORGANA and YAY GWEN and YAY LANCELOT. I am easily pleased by pretty characters. Not that Arthur isn't pretty as well. (Merlin is adorable, but too angular for me. More for the OT4, with bonus Lancelot!)
It creeps me out that Gaius is portrayed as this kindly mentor when he is doing something so TERRIBLE to Morgana. I wanted Merlin to confide in her! Except I suspect that Morgana is going to end up isolated so that she can turn evil. I have no idea how anything could turn her against Gwen, though. SHE IS MORE THAN JUST A SERVANT, SHE IS HER GIRLFRIEND. Also, Morgana's swordfighting skills are fierce and should feature in every episode.
I ♥♥♥ Gwen so. Angel Coulby is so talented and BEAUTIFUL. All I wanted to do was hug her throughout her dungeon scenes. No wonder Lancelot was so enamored. Yeah, yeah, the true love thing was a bit rushed, but I already buy the EPIC ROMANCE and and and it's LANCELOT/GUINEVERE. I love it. Even if Lancelot deserves a good wallop for pulling a chivalrous "We cannot be together!" at the end. He's a knight, chivalry is his thing.
The Merlin/Arthur BFFness in 2x04 was adorable and I hope it silences fans bitching about how they NEVER TALK ANYMORE. Can the OT4 just get married on top of a mountain? With Lancelot? I guess I have an OT5. It could so work.
