is in the mid-Atlantic. As we speak, I'm sitting at my parents' house in Claymont. Here's the highlights from the trip:
-Our first stop was Ocean City to visit Megan's grandma. On the way up we took the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. We ate right on the bridge! (Megan's amused by how excited I was about this fact.)
-Got into OC Monday afternoon. Did some mini-golf with Megan and her grandma that evening, as well as a trip to Rita's.
-Tuesday morning: Got up and went to Nassau Valley Vineyards, Delaware's oldest and only award-winning winery, down (or up, in this case) in Lewes. Did lunch at the Crab Bag in OC, where I had a truly mid-Atlantic meal of a crabcake and Yuengling. Siesta. Some time spent sitting on the beach in OC, then back to change and head back out for more mini-golf, plus the boardwalk and some ice cream.
-We got up this morning with the intent of going to the Fenwick Island Lighthouse. It's the 150th anniversary year and they were supposed to have additional stuff going on surrounding it. We checked their hours of operation and were all set to go, except somewhere we missed the "except Wednesdays" clause. So we got some pictures of the lighthouse and the Transpeninsular line marker, but didn't get to go in.
-Went to the lifesaving museum in Indian River, DE.
-Dogfish Head Restaurant in Rehoboth. It sounds as though we were eating and drinking our way through Slower Lower DE and Maryland's Eastern Shore, doesn't it? No argument here.
-Headed up Rt. 1 to Northern DE, and got here this afternoon. Just been hanging out for the most part, plus a trip to Rita's. Told you.
-On the docket: Tomorrow it's to Six Flags in Jersey, weather permitting (and DCI quarterfinals if it doesn't).
