For the record, I hate when it's said like that.

So it all comes down to this: The Final Four will likely tip off before I finish typing this entry. First, an observation (because i'm a band dork): The Memphis Tigers' pep band play the same arrangement of the Star Spangled Banner that my favorite blue-clad Tigers play.

I'm a little torn on this first game--UCLA or Memphis? My brackets say UCLA, but my brackets are fucked to the degree that they shouldn't determine my selection. On the other hand, Memphis is the little guy--despite being #1 for most of the year and only having lost one game, they've had to fight the battle of being a second class citizen by virtue of playing in Conference USA. Plus, you know, I've got an incorrigible East coast bias. So I think I'm rollin' with the Tigers on this one. I'll root my North Carolinianness in the other F4 matchup.

I like being able to switch from college lacrosse (as I was watching earlier) to college hoops. If there were a time that college football, basketball, and lacrosse all overlapped, they may call it heaven. My Dawgs won't be on TV today, but they're facing the Bearcats up in Binghamton this evening. Since I last talked about UMBC lax, we've beaten Stony Brook and Baltimore's wrong Black and Gold (Towson) to a 6-3 record, having just lost the early contests to national semifinalist UD, National Champion Johns Hopkins, and those damn Scarlet Knights of Rutgers (who I already dislike by virtue of being a USF alum). keep up the good work, Dawgs!!

Oh, and me? I was down in Atlanta for ACPA this past Friday through Wednesday... good times, and that odd feeling that I was simultaneously at work and on vacation. I got to see several friends and colleagues of mine there as well, and learned a lot. And if you're ever down in Atlanta, Marietta, or Charlotte, I HIGHLY recommend The Flying Biscuit Cafe. It's awesome.

In house news, Megan and I agreed to terms with the seller, so once he gets back into town (should be tomorrow) we should have the contract signed on his end and start moving towards closing! YAYY!!!
